All Microbee models had bit mapped graphics with PCG's. PCG graphics increases in the Premium models to allow full screen 64x16 screen but you could add extra PCG memory for full 80x25 screen in these models also.

All microbees had bit mapped graphics but to varying degrees.
For the original model it has a 128x128 (1/8 screen) hires mode.
For the Alpha Plus (aka Premium Series) it has 256x256, 320x256 and 512x256 (full screen) hires modes.
As for the question of "PCG or bitmapped graphics" - the answer is that PCG can be arranged to fully function as bitmapped graphics.
Have a look at the "doppelganger" posts for some screenshot examples.
The bee can run real arcade games such as Space Invaders, Space Chaser & Balloon Bomber.
It can also run ZX Spectrum, Exidy sorcerer, TRS80 & Apple 2 games.
With a few tweaks the microbee can be made to run true colour bitmapped graphics and run arcade games such as PACMAN etc.
