RE: Random MicroBee tapes - g67wjjk - 12-01-2021

Listening to the PRIMUG side A ... there is quite a bit of 50Hz (?) hum on the tape before the data starts - but that shouldn't affect it though, should it?

Duh, hang on ... it's been a few years ... an LPF cuts HF and passes LF, so it wouldn't affect 50Hz hum now would it

No that hum has no effect, the problem is sections in the wave file where the sine wave doesnt go from +'ve to -'ve like this

And the Cherry Maths 1 300 baud loads error free straight up, well the Left channel, but 1200b does not but will see if the file can be repaired.

I'll post the tapes to you today. I'm trying PRIMUG side A one more time, this time with Dolby NR off to see if it makes any difference.

Re-digitised Cherry Maths side A (1200 baud) and the PRIMUG side A - updated on my Dropbox

Many thanks, appreciated Smile

Hi All - new to post - just going through a bunch of Microbee related things I've received from my parent's estate (used to be my stuff).

Here's a link to some cassettes I've just found. Let me know if any are of interest to add to the archive/collection?

What a great collection of tapes and manuals you have acquired.

As for the tapes, we have them all except one, TEXT FORMATTER.  Are you able to record it ? if so record at 44.khz and save as a WAV 16bit file.  Also for your Manuals, all good and again we have them all except the Coastal Software price list.  Are you able to scan it or flatten and re-photograph ?

You have Electric Paintbrush manual and others that are associated with a Microbee disk system.  Have you found any disks in the collection ?

Any help, big or small, is very much appreciated.  Thank you.
