Hi Ewan,
Did you release this FlashFloppy as a product?

No, sorry Greg, It's not ready to go as yet.  It's been pushed aside to get the new models finished.
I am hoping to release this and the WifiSer Wifi modem in close proximity to the new models release though.
Never enough hours in the day.

This is darned cool. Smile Nice one Ewan!

I know what I would like in a flash floppy. Something with a header for the USB port, buttons, rotary encoder and display. Something small with only the 34 way connector and 2 pins for +5V and GND at the back. I always end up shucking my Gotek out of their plastic housings and mounting my own bits and pieces on them. Programming via the USB port is fine if it simplifies the design.
Anything that gets in the way of hacking in the bits I want is just in my way. They inevitably end up either inside the computer or in some custom enclosure anyway. I think the only two of the 10 or so Gotek drives I currently have that are still in their original shells are the one in my PC and the "generic" one I tend to use with Microbees, with the OLED on the top. Even that one will be moving to a better case shortly. I've been working on a Gotek based "Volume" in the style of the CIAB.

RE: New Products - someone - 30-09-2025

Someone uses FTDI VMUSIC and VDRIVE modules to load and save files (and play MP3 music) on ROM based microbees for fun.
The nice thing is that it doesn't require an operating system on the microbee side to work.

RE: Introducing : MultiFloppy - shane.crozier - 22-03-2026

A new product is on it's way.

It's called the 'MultiFloppy'

MultiFloppy is a neatly packaged 3.5" Disk drive for your Microbee (and other systems) that also includes
a 'Gotek / FlashFloppy' Floppy drive emulator built in.
With the Multifloppy, via the FlashFloppy menu, you can select which drive is in which position (A: to D: )
so that you can Boot from either the Floppy disk drive, or an image on the USB stick.
It also includes a 9.5volt power supply output to run your Microbee from.
As part of the design, the power supply output only gets enabled after the FlashFloppy software has read
the USB Stick and has an image ready to boot - this avoids the Microbee timing out while waiting for a
disk image to be ready.

More details to come & it is nearly ready for production. Some minor tweaks are needed to both the PCB
design & the FlashFloppy software.  Stay tuned for availability.
Is this still in the pipeline Ewan?

RE: New Products - ChickenMan - 23-03-2026

Yes I believe it is but only after the release of the new Microbee as its taking preference at the moment.

RE: New Products - MbeeTech - 23-03-2026

Yes, Correct. MultiFloppy will be released when I get a bit more time to tidy it up. Same goes for the WifiSer (Serial Telnet wifi module).
