Repairing Amber Monitor - shane.crozier - 15-05-2026 I've purchased an Amber Monitor on Ebay with some image sync issues - I'm going to try to repair it (looks like its been exposed to a lot of dirt, so it might just need a good clean and touching up solder joints) Do we have a schematic / manual for these available ? RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - ChickenMan - 15-05-2026 Sorry, dont have schematics for that model, only have the Users Manual. RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - shane.crozier - 15-05-2026 Is it a rebadged monitor that I could find a schematic from the manufacturer under a different brand? RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - MbeeTech - 15-05-2026 Isn't this the SV_1290x monitor (Mitsubishi rebadge)? If so, the schematic is in the repository under Microbee->Documentation->Schematics->Monitor->monitor_sv1290x.zip If the monitor is dirty/dust filed/ corroded, start with replacing the vertical & horizontal control trim pots. RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - shane.crozier - 16-05-2026 Thanks Ewan- The parcel arrives early next week so I'll let you know how I got on with it RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - markfre - 20-05-2026 Capacitors are usually the first to fail, so I would check and replace as required. RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - shane.crozier - 23-05-2026 If the Courier *ever* delivers it I will definitely keep that in mind. The seller has had it powered on and taken video of it so, the first thing I'm going to do is discharge any caps that are there to ground one I crack the case open - I'll take some pictures of the PCB's - solder and component side and have a good look to see what work needs done - sadly my Sister has not as yet been able to locate my old 'bee in my elderly parent's shed so, its likely I will need to purchase another in order to use (or even test) the screen. I plan to get some close-up shots of the capacitors to check them out, looking for cracking or burns, but from prior experience with similar monitors (albeit a decade ago) this kind of thing is possibly the Trim pot's with corrosion or dry joints.. Given the condition of the monitor, I suspect it has been exposed to humidity or weather RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - shane.crozier - 28-05-2026 Still waiting on CouriersPlease to deliver the monitor - I'd recommend NO-ONE use that courier service if they can avoid it - they have the worst reputation here in WA for just driving by buildings in the City (so the GPS says they were there) not attempting to leave their van. RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - someone - 28-05-2026 The monitor may be waiting with High Tension! Be careful. RE: Repairing Amber Monitor - shane.crozier - 01-06-2026 I will discharge before playing with it thankyou
