Fairly new to Microbee - brizza - 14-08-2026 Hi There, I've been a member here for the last couple of years and about time to introduce myself. I'm a vintage computer enthusiast and learning as i go along. Never owned a Microbee back in the day but did have the opportunity recently to build my own Freebee Premium thanks to Suzy over at MSPP. It's a great little machine and had alot of fun building it. Thanks to Chickenman's posts in relation to the Funstuff like games and joysticks etc. I have a TRS80 model 3 in my collection :-) and it's great to see some of the games converted to the Microbee, especially Galaxy Invasion, my favourite. Here's a pic of my Freebee Premium. RE: Fairly new to Microbee - ChickenMan - 14-08-2026 Hi Brizza and welcome to the forum and your kind words ![]() Arr the Compact Flash version, if had one her earlier version, updated and works a treat, one of my favorite Microbee. Just mine looks like a real 'bee with only a Coreboard change. If you need any further help you just need to ask and we have just about all the software and documentation you will ever need in our expanded Repository. RE: Fairly new to Microbee - shane.crozier - 15-08-2026 Glad you had fun building your own computer - If my soldering was better, I think I might undertake something like that, but I get so little time to enjoy my hobbies these days... I really do like your diskette / gotek enclosure - can you tell us a little bit about it - looks like what a CIAB would have been if it had been re-released RE: Fairly new to Microbee - brizza - 15-08-2026 (15-08-2026, 03:33 PM)shane.crozier Wrote: Glad you had fun building your own computer - If my soldering was better, I think I might undertake something like that, but I get so little time to enjoy my hobbies these days... Thanks, It's a little case i tinkered. I mostly needed a gotek display big enough see and closer to line of vision. So a case resembling the original computer in a book seemed the way to go. It's a simple design, basically a sleeve and insert that holds the two drives. The 2.42" display is jammed/glued into place on the inside with the selector knob. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1911HoZCglH5pBnVX_DjwT_1MhZw2GUfQ?usp=drive_link RE: Fairly new to Microbee - taren0305 - 18-08-2026 hi, i have suzys premium too. but i have lost contact with suzy. i need to get my core board finished any help please RE: Fairly new to Microbee - shane.crozier - 19-08-2026 (18-08-2026, 10:57 PM)taren0305 Wrote: hi, i have suzys premium too. but i have lost contact with suzy. i need to get my core board finished Suzy's boards are sold as kits - if you want help you might have to let people know what it is you need help with - e.g. burning eproms or soldering the thing together.... you might also want to try contacting her via MSPP as I dont think she's here as often as there.. |
