Microbee Diagnostic Disk - ChickenMan - 05-04-2020
Thanks to kimjohn for making this disk available to be imaged. A standard 5.25" 40tr Microbee disk with no copy protection.
This was an unlabelled disk that was not able to be imaged initially without physically cleaning the disk as per previous post. The disk still did not dump clean with a couple of errors still, even after a second clean. The 2 programs affected by the errors were located elsewhere and replaced the corrupted files on the disk.
The disk consists of some diagnostic and other utility programs, which are :
Align - Disk Drive Alignment Program - Part of Diagnostic II by SuperSoft.
Compare - Compares binary files.
CPU - Determines the type of CPU and does a CPU timing test - Part of Diagnostic II by SuperSoft.
DE - Direct Disk Editor for Microbee 56k System.
DTEST - Test dual Premium 80tr Disk drives.
FINDBAD - Finds bad sectors on the floppy and locks them out for further use.
FIX - For recovering erased files, fix directory track errors, etc. DOC file included.
SCCDIAGS - SCC Diagnostics if an SCC is fitted.
T128STD - 128k Test program for Memory, Keyboard, etc. Same as ROM version.
So in the MbeeTech repository in the Microbee\Software\Utilities folder we placed
microbee_diagnostic_disk_ds40.dsk
EDIT: Also added a 3.5" floppy version
microbee_diagnostics_disk_ss80.dsk
