Telnet connection on the Microbee - ChickenMan - 22-09-2020

Borrowed Ewans WifiSer unit, plugged it into the PP+, ran the updated Telcom (supports VT100), set it up for 4800 baud and connected into my home wifi.  Then logged into agency.bbs.nz as per pic below (my IP addy blanked out though Smile )

There are a few issues that still need sorting with the main issue being you cant download any files as no BBS I found supported the old Ward Christenson file transfer mode that Telcom was setup on back in the 80's.

A good list of BBS's is at https://www.telnetbbsguide.com/bbs/connection/telnet/list/brief/  The list is extensive.  There are a few dedicated to CP/M, many for Vintage, but most are for Commodore & Apple if computer orientated.  Lots of general chat sites as well.  I tried quite a few, but with many you get NO CARRIER.  They are either off line or all nodes are full so just keep trying.

So our 1980's 8 bit 64/128k Microbees can connect into today modern internet via wifi with little extra hardware.

FYI - The Ward Christensen protocol is better known as XMODEM.
