Meta4 Database disks for the Microbee - ChickenMan - 25-10-2020 These were imaged from an ebay seller sometime back allowing me to image them before he sold them, thanks Paul. The set consists of 3 x DS40 5.25" standard Microbee disks, not bootable and with no copy protection. META4 is an Australian-developed, fourth-generation database package. It is described as 'The Australian Database Adventure'. Meta4 is a database which is entirely non-procedural. Everything is done by defining database structures and relationships between items in those structures. It was produced by System Solutions P/L, Berwick, Victoria in 1983 and written by John Alexander. I have not been able to locate a manual, however, there is an extensive Tutorial (the whole of disk 2) that will help you getting started. The program is setup assuming a 2 floppy system with main program in A: drive and Tutorial & saved Data in B: drive. I have also created a bootable DS80 3.5" floppy and modified system.bld file to point to A: for the tutorial, etc. There is a nice review of Meta4 in the Your Computer July 85 issue also (in the Public repository) and well worth reading. So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Software/Applications folder we placed meta4_database_d1_ds40.dsk meta4_database_d2_ds40.dsk meta4_database_d3_ds40.dsk meta4_database_ds80.dsk |
