The TRS-80/System-80 User Group Bits & Bytes Newsletters - ChickenMan - 29-04-2021 Thanks to kimjohn for making these newsletters available for scanning and filling many missing holes from the collection that we already have in the repository. These were originally from the Newsletter Editor of the User group who maintained a complete collection. The TRS-80 / System-80 User Group, from Brisbane, Queensland first met 3rd August 1980 and produced a record of the proceedings of the meeting and most subsequent meetings. So the first 11 newsletters were just Meeting notes with a few program listing, sales, etc. thrown in from time to time. There was not a meeting every month either. It wasn't until Feb 1982 that they starting including a separate part to the newsletters called Bits and Bytes. Well one of our Aims is to have information of interest or those that have had a problem and managed to overcome it to tell US ALL about it. Secondly, there's sure to be Ideas, Routines and Programs members have developed that we would all be interested in. The Bits and Bytes section is full of Modifications, Updates, Addons, Program listings, tips, tricks and just about everything a System 80 needs. Bits and Bytes No. 18a does not contain any Bits and Bytes section, just some intermediate communications to the club members between issues over a Christmas break. So we now have the collection almost complete from issue 001 through to 145, just missing No 31 & 126. The last issue we have (No 145) is dated August 1995 which is now mostly MS-DOS and Windows related, as most clubs were by then. Issues 22 to 27 are updates to our current files as they now contain the first few pages of the Meeting Notes while issue 25 is a new addition, previously missing. Some pages or part pages were of extremely poor copy with some having areas that fade away to nothing, I have done my best to recover everything that was there. Provided also are ZIP files in groups of 10 (or 9) for easier downloading. Also the existing files were re-named to include their issue number in 3 digits so they list in correct order. So in the Vintage Repository in the System-80\Documentation\Newsletters\Bits_and_Bytes folder we placed trs80-system80_user_group_newsletter_01.pdf to trs80-system80_user_group_newsletter_11.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_001.pdf to Bits_&_Bytes_027.pdf More TRS-80/System-80 User Group Bits & Bytes Newsletters - ChickenMan - 10-11-2021 Thanks to kimjohn for making another folder of Bits and Bytes newsletters available for scanning to help in repairing the collection that we already have in the repository. These were originally from the Newsletter Editor of the TRS-80/System-80 User Group, Brisbane, who maintained a complete collection. The folder contained Issues No. 55 through to 90. We have all those currently in the Repository, however, after going through them page by page it was soon discovered that there were a few problems in various editions including pages missing, pages 99% unreadable and others with either lines or words missing or simply unreadable. So these were all repaired and updated to the collection. The problems fixed were :- #58 - Missing last 2 pages now included #60 - 8 pages replaced that had words unreadable #61 - 16 pages replaced that had words unreadable #63 - 10 pages replaced that had lines of words unreadable #64 - 1 page replaced that had words unreadable #76 - 1 page 99% unreadable & 1 page replaced that had words unreadable #77 - 2 pages were out of page order #78 - 1 page replaced that had words unreadable #80 - 2 repeating pages removed Provided also are ZIP files in groups of 10 of these newsletters for easier downloading, these have all been updated to include these repaired editions. So in the Vintage Repository in the System-80\Documentation\Newsletters\Bits_and_Bytes folder we updated Bits_&_Bytes_058.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_060.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_061.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_063.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_064.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_076.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_077.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_078.pdf Bits_&_Bytes_080.pdf |
