DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - someone - 10-07-2021 Someone has been playing around with their S100 Bus System Emulator which emulates of their real S100 Bus System which is based upon the DG680 CPU and DG640 VDU. RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - ChickenMan - 10-07-2021 Looking good, keep up the good work. When do think it will be ready for release ? RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - someone - 15-07-2021 Here it is playing the original Target. RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - ChickenMan - 15-07-2021 Fantastic, looking good
RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - someone - 04-09-2021 Someone was rummaging through some S100 tapes. It was good to know they were readable 40 years later error free! Does this look familiar? There's also PCG Table Tennis, the PCG HIRES driver which was the genesis of the microbee MWBASIC HIRES routines & others. RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - gentle1 - 05-09-2021 Hi Someone, The PCG chess, I think it was Sargon, looks very familiar. I remember that the PCG extension card to the ETI640 graphics card was such a step up in those days. I don't remember the PCG table tennis though. I haven't been so lucky with all of my tapes, but have spent some time in the application Audacity to fix the glitches. Great work on the emulator. Cheers Bruce RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - someone - 06-09-2021 (05-09-2021, 08:03 AM)gentle1 Wrote: The PCG chess, I think it was Sargon, looks very familiar. Hi Bruce, a great guess! The source code was published as a book by the authors Kathe and Dan Spracklen as "SARGON A COMPUTER CHESS PROGRAM" ISBN 0-8104-5155-7. The PCG version is exactly this tuned for use with the DG640 and TCTPCG. Someone's trick with tapes is to use the purpose built Micron Data Tape Recorder (Altronics) from Bill Edge's Electronic Agencies. Many standard tape recorders were rather finicky they have ALC (Automatic Level Control) tuned for listening music and speech which didn't respond well to FSK modulated signals. One spent many hours adjusting the volume and tone controls to getting tapes to load. The Micron unit has a handy Tape monitor switch that allowed the user to hear the tape tones during playback. It even has a 2.5mm pencil socket for tape motor pause that the SECI and USCI used. Cheers Someone RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - Minuous - 08-09-2021 Here is a link to a softcopy of that book: http://web.archive.org/web/20051217095721/http://madscientistroom.org/chm/Sargon.html RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - someone - 14-09-2021 Here is an ancestor of the microbee basic running! Note that there is no "Ready" caption. RE: DGZ80 S100 BUS System Emulator - someone - 28-03-2022 Here's the Ver 2.7 of MWBASIC in ROM. Note the introduction of the "Ready" prompt & the change from Extended to "Level II" ? The tape and ROM versions differ slightly with only the tape version supporting the PLAY statement. It gives a small insight to the development of the MWBASIC for the microbee. 1.0t -> 2.1t & 2.1r -> 2.7r ->2.7t --~--> 4.xx --~--> 5.00 (microbee) ..... |
