Ever wonder why 'H'? - someone - 14-09-2021 Have you ever wondered why 'H' suffix option is used for Microworld BASIC statements such as SET, RESET, POINT, INVERT & PLOT? (A Hint: It's not because the 'I' option is used for PLOT.) RE: Ever wonder why 'H'? - ChickenMan - 14-09-2021 Probably an idea thought up by Harry/Howard/Henry or Helen
RE: Ever wonder why 'H'? - someone - 17-09-2021 Although not mentioned in the Microworld Z80 Extended Basic manual (v2.1) supported the PCG hires graphics using its HIRES statement. The 'H' suffix indicated to the SET, RESET and POINT statements to place HIRES pixels instead of LORES graphics pixels. It's meaning morphed for the microbee BASIC to indicate the use of inverted y-axis parameters. Note: The DG680 LORES is 128x64 hardware chunky graphics characters unlike the microbee which is 128x48 (for TRS80 compatibility) using PCG characters. |
