Making a Gotek Disk? - mjelic - 30-05-2022 So.. I have my Gotek and normal 3.5" (I think 720K DSDD?) floppy all working on the Bee. But How do I get say some new CP/M software onto either medium, Gotek "drive image" or Floppy? BTW, ChickenMan... I've downloaded and tested this in the uBee emulator and it seems to work fine but still playing with it and want to get it onto the real Bee, hence the question above. But I thought you might want to include it in the Repo? http://www.bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcbasic/z80basic.html RE: Making a Gotek Disk? - ChickenMan - 30-05-2022 If you boot the EDASM ds80 disk image via the Gotek, then type in HOST2CPM c:\temp\bbcbasic.com a: it will transfer the BBC.COM from your HD (change drive & folder to suit of course) to A: drive. Run it to check its working and if all good, then use COPY BBCBASIC.COM B: and it will copy it to a formatted floppy you have in B: drive. BBC Basic Z80 CP/M version offers no graphics or sound or colour and any BBC program that uses those or POKEs/PEEKs will not run. I've had it here for many years including its manual (captured from the online pages) but see no advantage over MBASIC or even Microbee BASIC to be honest. RE: Making a Gotek Disk? - mjelic - 30-05-2022 Yes, I managed to use HOST2CPM to get it into uBee. The advantage I was was that is allows Assembler language to be typed in-line, very easily. I wouldn't use it for the Basic... I'd potentially use it because it might be easier to use than EDASM. RE: Making a Gotek Disk? - ChickenMan - 30-05-2022 You need a nice little Text editor like TE.COM, only 18k. I got it recently, will release it shortly already configured and setup for the Microbee ![]() |
