Broken key stem - Mitac - russelltaylor1967 - 04-07-2022 Hi all, Apologies if this is a re-post - I did write a post yesterday but I'm not sure if I saved / submitted it. When removing the keys from my Microbee/Mitac portable, the stem of the 'Return' key snapped. It was the very last key to remove - I thought I was lucky to get them all off without any breaks. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to repair the stem - I've included an image. Or do you know anyone that would / could repair it? Regards, Russell. RE: Broken key stem - Mitac - CheshireNoir - 05-07-2022 Not sure if it'll be the best fix, but maybe get some superglue, join the two surfaces, and once the stem is in the right place, sprinkle some baking soda over the joint? It insta cures the superglue and you get a really tight bond. You could even then add more superglue and more baking soda to build up the joint. Cheers! John RE: Broken key stem - Mitac - russelltaylor1967 - 05-07-2022 Thanks John, I was thinking of gluing the two pieces together - as it looks like a clean break. I just need to make sure they're both aligned. I didn't think of the baking soda trick - so that's a good tip. Will let you know how I get on. Russell. RE: Broken key stem - Mitac - russelltaylor1967 - 18-09-2022 Quick update. The superglue + baking soda worked well. So problem solved :-) Thanks John. Now...on to the next issue with the machine...
