Arcade Game #3 disk for both Premium & CIAB + new game - ChickenMan - 20-12-2019 As recently requested, we had a number of TRS-80 games converted by various people over the past years but most were never put on a disk for easy playing. So our library was scoured for all the un-official TRS-80 games converted to run on the Microbee. Found 26 of them, hope I didnt miss any, and all were added to an auto-booting menu driven disk, see picture below. They come from Big Five Software, Dubois & McNamara and many others. Most are exact conversions, some have minor modifications and some are Joystick only. The games on the disks are :- Alien Cresta Battle Station Apple Panic Centipede Attack Cosmic Fighter Defence Command Galaxy Invasion Galaxy Invasion Plus Donut Dilema Ghost Hunter Gun Fighter <-- new game Hoppy Jungle Raiders Killer Beetles Meteor Mission Meteor Mission II Outhouse Sea Dragon Tandy Invaders Volcano Hunter Armoured Patrol <Joystick> Attack Force <Joystick> Cosmic Fighter <Joystick> Galaxy Invasion <Joystick> Robot Attack <Joystick> Super Nova <Joystick> Gun Fighter is a new conversion and was the very first program written by Dubois and McNamara in 1981 to run on the TRS-80 Model 1, a simple two-player game where you fired at each other. As there are a number of Dubois and McNamara TRS-80 games already converted to run on the Microbee, I thought this one would compliment the others. The Joystick games are all COM files but only run from Basic. They all work fine on the CIAB disk but all but 1 would not run on the Premium disk. They all hung early in the game when the keyboard was about to be read. It was soon discovered that they made calls to E009h (Boot rom) to see if a key was down. These were changed to 8009h (Basic) and they now all appear to run fine. The start and game help menu runs slow, but the game runs correctly with the Joystick. All the games are monochrome and unaltered will NOT work on a 256TC Microbee, use the separate 256TC Arcade Games disks for the 256TC. So for something to play over the Christmas / holiday break, in the Microbee\Software\Games folder we placed - arcade_3_ss80.dsk arcade_3_ciab_ss80.dsk RE: Arcade Game #3 disk for both Premium & CIAB + new game - ChickenMan - 07-06-2020 Due to requests, we have made available the above disk already configured for the early 56K/64K Microbees with 5.25" floppy drives. The popular Scavenger doesnt run on the 56K/64K bee but the Pre-Release Boulderdash version does appear to work so has been replaced. So, these disks are now in the Repository in the MbeeTech/Microbee/Software/Games folder arcade_3_ds40.dsk |
