BACKUP Manual and Disk for the Microbee - ChickenMan - 01-08-2023 From my recent purchase of Microbee material, there was a disk marked BACKUP. A standard auto-booting 5.25" Microbee DS40 disk with no copy protection that imaged 100% error free with my Floppyio. BACKUP was from the WA Schools Computing Centre and simply copies a whole disk, including the system track, track by track to a new disk. No mention in the Manual if it can or cannot copy any copy protected disks. From the manual - The BACKUP program makes a copy of one disk onto another disk. All of the information in all of the tracks on the source disk, including the system tracks, is copied onto the destination disk. This program will run on a 128k Microbee but will only operate with a 56k CP/M operating system. The manual is only 4 pages long and when the program is run you have only 2 options, C to copy a disk or E to exit back to CP/M. However, there is an updated version found on the Birds of Antarctic disk (released a few days back) that allows you to Copy the whole disk, System Tack only, copy any selected track(s) or Exit. So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee\Software\Utilities folder we placed backup_ds40.dsk backup_manual.pdf <-- in Documentation\Manuals\Software folder backup.jpg <-- in Documentation\Pictures\Disks\5.25_inch folder |
