Introductory Data Processing disk from Wesoft for the Microbee. - ChickenMan - 26-10-2023 From my recent purchase of Microbee material there was an original disk of Introductory Data Processing disk, labelled as IDP. The disk was a standard Microbee 5.25" DS40 disk that auto-boots with no copy protection and imaged 100% error free on a floppyio unit. It was developed by the Schools Computing Branch of the Education Department of Western Australia in 1985 and released via Wesoft. Boots to a Menu - We already have this program in the Repository but that appears to an earlier version. We also have the Manual, so check it out for further information about the program. This earlier disk and Manual both originally came from Edith Cowan University, WA where I imaged them some 8 years or so ago at Flinders University, SA. From the manual - The objective of this package is to provide students and teachers with a vehicle for exploring introductory computing concepts. it has been decided to use data which exist in the classroom - information about the students themselves. For this program, the data to be collected include the following for each student: Surname Given name Birth date Height Arm Span Favourite television programme So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee\Software\Education folder we placed introductory_data_processing_wesoft_85_ds40.dsk introductory_data_processing_85.jpg <-- in Documentation\Pictures\Disks\5.25in folder |
