Printmaster Art Gallery ll disk & manual + PMEDIT manual for the Microbee - ChickenMan - 11-11-2023
Thanks to the ACMS and Cynde Moya for making these items available for imaging & scanning all contained in a robust folder. The manual was A5 in size and 23 pages long. The folder had two 5.25" DS40 Microbee disks with the Printmaster Plus disk totally unreadable, but, we do have a copy of it already in the repository as a 3.5" disk though. The Printmaster Art Gallery ll disk had LOTS of errors. Tried with different drives, etc and removed the disk platter from its case and thoroughly cleaned, this helped a lot but still not 100%. I was only able to recover part of the large ULIB.SHP file that contains the graphic images. However, while checking through some disk images made years ago I stumbled upon a disk that had many Printmaster graphics files and using PMSHOW (from printmaster_graphics_editor_ds80.dsk) I was able to find a 100% error free ULIB.SHP file for the Art Gallery ll disk. We already have the Printmaster Art Gallery l manual in the repository which has thumbnail pictures of all the graphic images in its file and luckily its graphic image was found there also
So a Printmaster Art Gallery l disk was made using the Gallery ll layout.Since these disks are 5.25" and we have printmaster_1.45_ds40.dsk in the Repository, that was used to test the disks. However, I could not get it to run, so its original image was pulled out, from my source archive that I keep, which worked fine. So our current file has been updated with a working copy and was now able to test both the new Art Gallery disks.
In the folder containing the 2 disks and manual, there was a 3 page manual for PMEDIT, written by John G Arnold. PMEDIT is a graphics editor for use with MICROBEEs and allows the user to Create new or Modify existing 'graphics pictures' for use with PRINTMASTER. Unfortunately, that program was not included, so if anyone can help with a copy of it, that would be greatly appreciated. However, you can use printmaster_graphics_editor_ds80.dsk already in the repository to modify, create or show the graphic files as an alternative.
The disk labels were also scanned and included here. If anyone needs these Art Gallery files on 3.5" disks, just ask in the forum. Recently found on the internet was a scan of an original Microbee PRINTMASER disk, so is included here also.
So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee\Software\Applications\Graphics folder we placed
