Greaseweazle and ZCPR3 - ChickenMan - 24-01-2020 I have made up a Greaseweazle ( https://github.com/keirf/Greaseweazle ) and flashed with the latest firmware. It can image a floppy disk at flux level and allow you to write it back to a floppy as well. The HxC Floppy Emulator software from http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/index.html#download with HxCFloppyEmulator software v2.2.2.1 the latest, can analyse the image and can even convert it to *.HFE format for use on a Gotek. This is what HxCFloppyEmulator shows for a 256TC System disk image. RE: Greaseweazle - ChickenMan - 27-01-2020 Decided to see if I can recover an old ds80 Microbee ZCPR3 disk that I got back in the 80's. Attempts with PC and Floppyio many years ago resulted in a partially booting image only. So tried with the GW. I tried different brands of Floppy drives as well and using HxC software you can see the best results. Wrote what looked the best back out to a floppy with GW and then imaged that disk with Floppyio. Again wouldnt boot but comparing that image to previous images with a hex editor I found 2 sectors in the boot section different, manually cut & pasted it over and bingo, now have a disk that boots to an A: prompt. Still need to fully check it out as it still comes up with 1 dskerr though. To continue. |
