Hello from Perth - tmuir - 17-03-2025 Hi Everyone, I joined this forum almost 2 1/2 years ago in preparation of me getting myself a Microbee to restore, but like many things life got in the way of me finding one, but I finally got myself one today. It will be another week or 2 before I receive it and I'm sure I will be needing to ask many questions as this one seems to of had a lot of modifications done to it. It is a Microbee 16 but has a MB1217-54 colour display card and a 56K MB1656 board on it. I've previous restored a couple of pinball machines, Atari 6 switcher, ZX81, C64 and a C128, but this will be my first Australian made machine. I remember using a Microbee computer in highschool computer classes and look forward to reliving that. Tony RE: Hello from Perth - ChickenMan - 17-03-2025 Welcome to the forum ![]() Good to hear your finally got yourself a Microbee. Sounds like you will need some help, so just ask as I'm sure you will get the answers you need. Take a few pics of the unit as they will help identify exactly the version a 'bee you have. RE: Hello from Perth - tmuir - 17-03-2025 Thanks I will when I receive it, it was obviously part of a bigger setup as it has potentially a floppy drive cable on the expansion port that looks to of seen better days and a D15 port on a ribbon cable hanging out below the serial port, but above what I assume is the D15 for the colour adapter, fun times ahead. RE: Hello from Perth - CheshireNoir - 18-03-2025 Welcome! Perth has quite a surprising number of Microbee users here. Reach out if you need any assistance. I'm north of the river. The bottom D15 Port is the colour port. You will see that the case has been cut to allow access to it. RE: Hello from Perth - tmuir - 18-03-2025 (18-03-2025, 06:52 PM)CheshireNoir Wrote: Welcome!
