Thanks to Oldbee for providing a walkthrough of this adventure together with some hints and a detailed map.
Bushwalking Adventure was written by Phillip Ahrens in 1984 and sold by Dreamcards. A slightly different text adventure where you need to know map co-ordinates. You are a knobbly-kneed hiker in the treacherous Bootsville area, your one aim in life being to guide a party of hikers to a tower some miles from your starting position. Numerous hikers have starved, fallen on their boy-scout knives and otherwise karked it on this march, so you'll have to know your stuff to get them through.
It was also discovered that you were not able to finish the game with maximum points so a small change to the code was made and all is now fixed so you can finish the game with a max of 18 points and obtain the rank of Master. Again, only read the Walkthrough as a last resort to help you finish the game.
You start with a score of 5. Points are awarded as follows:
Pitching your tent 2
Building a bridge 2
Lighting a fire 1
Eating your food 2
Sleeping 2
Putting out your fire 2
Arriving at the tower 2
Total 18
but you also loose points for losing equipment, using the Help command and getting lost & rescued.
So in the MbeeTech repository in the microbee/documentation/adventure_walkthroughs folder we placed
bushwalking_adventure_walkthrough.pdf
bushwalking_adventure_ss80.dsk <--- updated in software/games/adventures folder
