From my recent purchase of Microbee material there was an original disk of WESTERN AUSTRALIAN CLIMATE and its Manual. The disk was a standard Microbee 5.25" disks that images 100% error free via my Floppyio. The manual was A5 in size and 21 pages long that also included a keyboard insert displaying the wind directions and ocean currents. Scanned at 600pdi and converted to a searchable PDF as usual. The program was also available for the BBC Computer and the manual is for both the BBC and Microbee computers.
Western Australia Climate was produced by the Education Department of WA by the School Computing Branch in 1986 and released via Wesoft. The Microbee version was programmed by S. Sriratneswaran. The manual also includes Activity and Problem sheets for students to work through.
The program was designed to enable students to test hypotheses about climate
in Western Australia. With direction and discussion the children will discover
that:
• average temperatures of Western Australian centres follow the overall pattern
of decreasing with latitude.
• places in the north of W.A. have a wet season in summer, places in the south
have a wet season in winter and other places have no distinct wet season.
• the amount of rainfall a region receives determines human activity.
• the amount of rainfall a region receives varies greatly from region to region.
So in the MBeeTech Repository in the Microbee/Software/Education folder we placed
western_australian_climate_ds40.dsk
