Thanks, so not a floppy controller cable, maybe once I have it infront of me it will give more clues.
On the plus side I was reminded that 'In the storeroom of doom' at one of our 'abandoned offices' at my work we may have a monitor old enough that the Microbee can connect to, so if I get time tomorrow I will have a look. The benefits of working for a largish company that over the last 10 years acquired a number of other companies and shut offices down but couldn't get rid of them due to long leases or critical equipment that can't be moved to other locations without a large investment of cash.
