I hadn't thought of trying the ROM in a 56K coreboard. Good thinking.
The one I have has a MB1732 (32k rom based) coreboard in it as per the pic attached.
If I'm recalling correctly, the one my mate had was the same configuration.

I think you will find the SRAM on your MB1732 will have had a minor board alteration to place the SRAM in memory space of D800h - DFFFh just under the B-ETI ROM address. No changes need for the 56k as it already has SRAM all the way up to E000h the B-ETI start address. The !ROM SEL will also be set for address E000h.
I also was a Radio amateur back in the eighties (VK6WM) however also let my license expire as family life took over the priorities.
