Thanks to ejwords for making this original tape available to be recorded and their manuals to be scanned. Tape was recorded at 44.1khz and saved initially as a mono 16bit WAV file. The tape contained no copy protection and just needed cleaning with noise removal so they can load error free into ubee512 as a IC, PC or PC85 Microbee. The manuals were all A4 in size and the pages just stapled in the top left corner.
This tape contained 4 simple programs and each were separated out as an individual file when recorded. They were not on the tape in the order of the label either which made for a little initial confusion.
Banner Print, written by Ron Harris and Martin Hood, will produce a BANNER lengthwise along a roll of printer paper. The height, width and symbol used to print each letter are user controlled. The BANNER may be up to 63 letters long, which when using 9 by 6 multipliers, will produce a BANNER about 30 feet long and one foot high.
Biorythm Printer, written by Ron Harris, will produce a biorythm graph for up to 12 months from any given date. Since only the last 2 digits of the birth date and start date are entered it cannot be used for people over 100 years of age.
Calendar Maker, written by Ron Harris, is an educational program that can produce a calendar complete with header for any year from 0001 to 9999. A printer is required with at least 70 columns width for the calendar to be useful. Note, the spelling on the tapes label has it as CALANDER.
Maze Maker, written by Perry Brown, will produce mazes of any required proportions, although primarily intended for a printer, small mazes may be produced to the VDU.
The WAV files were later down sampled to 16kHz or 22kHz and saved as 8bit WAV files to reduce their size considerably but retain error free loading. All are machine code programs and were also saved as *.BEE files for running from a disk. They are included in the zip file of each.
The manuals are simple instruction sheets for the Microbee, DGOS and CP/M versions (the tape was originally released as a DGZ80 tape) and were either 2 or 3 pages long. Sample printouts were included also.
So in the MbeeTech repository in the Microbee\Software\Tapes\Original folder we placed
banner_print.wav
biorythm_printer.wav
calender_maker.wav
maze_maker.wav
banner_print.pdf <-- these in the Microbee\Documentation\Manuals\Software folder
biorythm_printer.pdf
calendar_maker.pdf
maze_maker.pdf
calendar_maze_biorythm_banner.jpg <-- in Microbee\Documentation\Pictures\Tapes folder
