Thanks to ejwords for making this rom image available. It was found as an image on a floppy disk while backing it up together with a number of other rom images that we already have.
We already have this program, as DatBas, on Education_07_ds80.dsk as a BASIC program, written by Peter Baldwin in 1983. This is a later version 3 written in assembler and runs from an 8kb rom. The Manual in the Documentation folder is for the Tape/Disk version but appears to be applicable to this ROM version also, though a different looking Menu when run. From the Manual :-
DATBAS will allow you to create an organised data-base - HOW you
organise it is up to you. You have a completely free hand as to how
you organise it, except that you are limited to a maximum of 10
fields, each field being restricted to a maximum of 30 characters.
You are also, of course, limited by the amount of memory you have
available.
You can try it out under ubee512 emulator set to emulate the Microbee IC. Put the ROM in the ubee512/rom folder and use
ubee512 ic --pak1=database3.rom
When Basic boots up, type in PAK1 and tap Return. The Capital letter of each menu option runs that option.
So in the the Microbee/Software/ROMs/DataBase folder we placed
database3.rom
