From my recent purchase of Microbee material there was a manual titled School Computing Business System User Guide. An A5 sized manual 108 pages long. Scanned at 600dpi and converted to a seachable PDF as usual. Unfortunately, there were no disks provided for these programs, can anyone help there?
The School Computing Business System was produced by the Education Department of WA School Computing Branch in 1986 with the programs by F Lee. Released via Wesoft.
The Schools Computing Business System (SCBS) is a
comprehensive, commercial standard accounting system
incorporating the following functions:
Accounts receivable.
Accounts payable.
Stock control.
General ledger.
System operation.
This package was developed specifically for use in business
studies courses at the secondary school level. It permits
businesses to be set up and managed as real businesses. Thus
students gain experience at computerised accounting systems
very similar to those used in the commercial world.
This book is divided into three chapters and a set of
appendices. This first chapter provides an overview of the
system, chapter two deals with taking an existing business (or
starting a new business) and installing it on the computer
system, and chapter three is a reference guide to each of the
menu options.
The SCBS package contains a set of eight disks - one MASTER disk, four program disks and three data disks. If anyone can help with finding a copy of these disks, that would be great. I think they could be used even today for a complete accounting system for the Microbee.
So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee/Documentation/Manuals/Education folder we placed
school_computing_business_system_user_guide.pdf
