Thanks to chillers for making this disk available to be imaged. It was a MicroByte original 5.25" disk of unknown format and labelled MicroByte Adventure v1.0. Using the Floppyio to examine an "unknown" disk it showed there to be 37 formatted tracks, single sided, 10 sectors/track, 256 bytes/sector and a skew of 1,8,5,2,9,6,3,10,7,4. This is the same as a North Star Horizon 5.25" disk but 37 tracks not 35. So altered the 35 to 37 and dumped the disk using ubeedisk with no errors reported.
The WinArcadia 2650 emulator had no option for loading a disk, so the image was sent to Minuous for comment. He said he had never seen a disk before for any 2650 system so never updated WinArcadia to handle them. A week or so later he came back with a partly working version and could load the disk and run the game. It has now been updated further and can run the disk properly. To run the game with WinArcadia, get the latest from http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/#amiarcadia and put the Disk image in the Disk folder -
To play the Microbyte Adventure game using WinArcadia 30.4+:
1. Choose "Options|Machine|BINBUG" (or press Ctrl+5).
2. Choose "Options|BIOS|BINBUG ROMs...".
3. Select BINBUG 3.5 and MicroDOS.
4. Click OK.
5. Choose "File|Reinitialize machine".
6. Choose "File|Open...".
7. Load "Adventure.raw".
8. Type ADVENT and press ENTER.
There was also 2 other disks of Games Source code provided that were also imaged without error. Minuous was able to extract the files and encode them to runnable programs, thanks again. Place them all in the Games folder and Load them as above but selecting the Game at Point 7. It should auto start. Here is TARGET running, looks almost identical to the Microbee version.
On MicroBytes website, http://binnie.id.au/MicroByte/, they have a number of Information Sheets (Brochures) that were a bit different to the copies we already have in the Repository. I've had them for quite awhile, so these new versions are added here also.
So in the Vintage Repository in the Microbyte\Software folder we placed
microbyte_adventure.raw
microbyte_adventure_.jpg <-- floppy disk scan of disk label
microbyte_2650_games_source.zip <-- the games source code
AstroTrek.pgm
AstroTrekA.pgm
Chess.pgm
LunarLander.pgm
NChess.pgm
Poker.pgm
Rotate.pgm
Target.pgm
TargetShoot.pgm
microbyte_assembler_info.pdf <-- these in the Microbyte\Brochures folder
microbyte_basic info.pdf
microbyte_binbug_info.pdf
microbyte_source_generator_nfo.pdf
