' BEE BASIC emulation in the browser(local)/on the desktop

    I have spent the last month working on an BASIC emulator that works locally. 

UBEE512, MAME, NANOWASP all meet certain needs. I wanted something to quickly access BASIC that can LOAD and SAVE .mwb. Also quickly access MBUG collection etc. 

Vibedrone400 is nearing completion. Written as a html/.js file it incorporates the 5.29e ROMS. The Z80 emulation was ZEXDOc tested to exhaustion(i hope) over 3 days.

Colour implementation was a huge issue and almost defeated me. 

It's truly amazing what modern AI can achieve when prompted accurately and concisely. 

However, ask it to write a program in Microbee BASIC to hold an array of 100 items and it immediately produces DIM A1$(100) day after day, week after week. 

I am exploring the various wrapper models atm and will hopefully have the final product ready for the repository in early July. As always ChickenMan has been a great bug finder, thank you!

After playing with Electron, Neutrinojs and node.js I am of the opinion that a simple single page index.html model booted by a shortcut for browser of choice in kiosk mode or webpage mode is simpler and less than 400kb.

Any differing opinions?

I cannot see any reason why not. I am hardening the overall code at present whilst tracking down an elusive memory issue across the graphics subsection. I am not 100% satisified with keyboard input either. Another win, I now have it running on my phone using the android keyboard. Very satisfying to see plot in action.

hmmmm, Chickenman I totally got lost in some of the .bee files. no idea what they are for.

Please suggest 4 or 5 titles that would be good to cut vibedrones teeth on , cheers g

The *.BEE files are Binary files, 99% of the games are in Z80 binary form rather than Basic. Any game on the ARCADE_1 disk such as ROBATMAN.BEE, SP-INV.BEE as they load at the default 2304 (900h) address but others like DEFENDER-2.BEE loads at 256 (100h). List M.MWB and it shows the load and start address of each of the games.

Thanks.Games I can deal with. I spent 24 hours with flash.bee trying to get Claude to understand what a flash meant. I think there was another called vline.bee any clues? . I'm currently reverting my build as Claude had used.github code in 8 lines. My new path actually is better as it will harden the emulator for more machine code programs. The interplay between Grok and Claude is fascinating. Both have their own strengths but Claude is better at correct coding and deep analysis. Grok takes a wider picture that helps Claude focus on a specific area. Due to Telstra issues nothing achieved this morning.

Most ( but not all ) *.bee files require BASIC to have booted first.

This was the problem I found when the embryonic quick load functionality in Novato was failing for some files and not others.

Probably not an issue for vibedrone as Basic is what it is designed to load

Thanks Tony for that information. Yes the emulator boots BASIC then the user clicks the LOAD button to load .mwb, .bas. txt or .bee . Basic .mwb programs run well, but i have runaway issues with EJ and breakout. I am changing the timing loops at the moment. Unfortunately real world events mean I am renovating a bedroom, not vibecoding. Ah well. More time to figure out the questions I need to ask.

re GitHub, a bit above my paygrade. I had a look and I am out of my league I dont understand a lot of the terminology.. I will keep getting the .htmls uploaded to the Repository.
