I logged out so that I could download it. What process is used to load the .tap file? Is the .dsk file a conventional CPC-EMU one?

Yes the DSK is a standard Microbee CPC-EMU style image and it runs fine under MAME (just tried as a Prem 128k).

For a TAP file, with ubee512, if you use

ubee512 ic --tapfilei=vexed.tap

and when at the Basic prompt, just type in LOAD and hit Return and it it instantly loads and starts running.  I dont see any option in MAME to load TAP files.

Thanks for the info. MAME microbee emulation has no support for tap files - I assume it's a ubee512-specific thing.

So there lies the challenge to add TAP file loading to MAME for the Microbee

In Mame it's white and in uBee it's grey.

Dark yellow is much lighter in Mame and more brown in uBee.

Colour variations can occur for a number of reasons even on real hardware particularly on early colour monitors and really shows up on shades of brown.
When using ubee512 someone uses the fine tuning colour adjustment CLI params when needed.

Ran on my Prem 128k with CGA to VGA Microbee converter to VGA screen.  Lighting wasnt the best but the white/gray was somewhere in between both to a light gray like at the bottom row.
